Graduated in Physics from the Federal University of Viçosa, a Master's in Applied Physics from the University of São Paulo in São Carlos, and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Düsseldorf in Germany. He specializes in Strategic Management of Technological Innovation from Unicamp and an MBA in Business Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas. He was the leader of the research group on electronic components at the "Institut für Integrative Nanowissenschaften" of the "Leibniz-Institut für Festkörper und Werkstoffforschung Dresden" in Germany. He was a researcher at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Chemnitz in Germany and an Alexander von Humboldt fellow at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany. He was a researcher and head of the Devices Division at the National Nanotechnology Laboratory (LNNano/CNPEM) in Campinas, São Paulo. He was a professor-advisor in the Department of Physical Chemistry at the State University of Campinas and a consultant in technological innovation and research and development project management. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mackenzie Presbyterian Institute and the Deliberative Council of the Mackenzie Presbyterian Institute, as well as a member of the Advisory Committee on Nanotechnology and New Materials (CCNANOMAT) of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI). He was Director of Education, Research, and Innovation at the Mackenzie Presbyterian Institute and General Director of MackGraphe, the Graphene and Nanotechnology Research Institute. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Physics at the Institute of Geosciences and Exact Sciences at UNESP, a member of the Graduate Program in Science and Technology of Materials (POSMAT) at UNESP, and General Coordinator of the SibratecNano Networks for Innovation in Nanotechnology at the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI).
