Graduated in Medicine at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) with experience in an international university program at Middlesex University, London, England. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Clinics Hospital of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Sao Paulo (HCFMUSP) and in Cardiology with a specialization in Echocardiography at the Heart Institute of Sao Paulo Medical School (InCor). During this period he was a fellow observer at the Echocardiography services at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts and at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, both in the United States. He is currently assistant physician at the Echocardiography Lab at InCor-HCFMUSP and Senior Physician of the Fleury group. He has specialist titles in Cardiology from the Brazilian Society of Cardiology (SBC), with a certificate to perform Echo from the Department of Cardiovascular Imaging (DIC-SBC), in addition to the title of specialist in intensive medicine from the Brazilian Intensive Medicine Association (AMIB). In the academic field, he has a PhD and Post-Doctorate in Cardiology from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Sao Paulo. As professional activity, he performs multimodalities of Echocardiography, from basic transthoracic examination to the most advanced techniques such as analysis of myocardial deformation (strain), ventricular twist/torsion, myocardial work, three-dimensional (3D) Echocardiography, diagnostic and interventional transesophageal, and Echocardiography under physical stress and pharmacological, using microbubble echocardiographic contrast.
