Post-doctor in Physical Education from the State University of Londrina (UEL), PhD in Sciences from the Nutrition in Public Health Program at the School of Public Health of the University of São Paulo, Master in Physical Education from UEL, specialist in Sports Training Sciences from Universidade Norte do Paraná, holds a degree in Physical Education from UEL, and a Bachelor's Degree in Administrative Sciences (1997) and Accounting Sciences (1999) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas. During his PhD, he did an internship (PDEE / CAPES) at the School of Human Motricity at the Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Education at the School of Technology and Sciences (FCT) at São Paulo State University - UNESP, Presidente Prudente / SP, Brazil, and he is accredited in the Graduate Programs in Movement Sciences and Physical Therapy at UNESP. Currently works and has acted as department head, course coordinator, course Physical Education department advisor, member of the ethics committee, member of the Permanent Research Committees (when he was vice-president) and Teaching Committees at the FCT / UNESP, elected member of the FCT / UNESP congregation and appointed member of the Permanent Administration Commission of FCT / UNESP. Coordinates the Skeletal Muscle Assessment Laboratory (LABSIM), in partnership with Brazilian, American, Italian and Portuguese institutions. In graduate school, he supervises and supervised five doctoral students (four completed) and ten master students (six completed). At undergraduation, he guides and guided 47 students (40 completed) and 18 undergraduate students (16 completed). He has two book chapters and 77 articles published in indexed journals, of which 51 are at the base of NCBI (PUBMED). Coordinates and coordinated six research projects and three extension projects at UNESP. He raised funds for research projects and technical visits with CNPq (Universal Edital), CAPES (via PPGCMI) and FAPESP. He is a member of the International Society for Electrical Bio-impedance and the Brazilian Society of Physical Activity and Health. He has experience in the area of Physical Education, with an emphasis on Measurement and Evaluation, Body Composition, Bioelectrical Impedance, DXA, Exercise Prescription for adult and elderly, and Epidemiology of Physical Activity.
