Luiz Gustavo Oliveira Brito is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (DTG) at the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FCM) of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and a Full Advisor in the Graduate Program (rated 7 by CAPES-Medicine III) since 2016. He was also a Professor in the Medicine Course at the University of Ribeirão Preto (UNAERP). He completed his Postdoctoral studies at Harvard Medical School at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He completed his residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics and obtained his Master's, Doctorate, and Livre-Docência at FMRP-USP, where he was a Full Advisor in the Graduate Program in Gynecology and Obstetrics (rated 7 by CAPES-Medicine III) from 2012 to 2019. He is the President of the Brazilian Association of Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor (UROGINAP-BR) for the biennium 2021-2023. He was the president of the Publications Committee and Past Chair of the Special Interest Group on Urogynecology and Vaginal Surgery of the American Association for Gynecological Laparoscopists (AAGL). He is a member of the International Advisory Board (IAB) for Latin America and the Caribbean of the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA). He is a member of the CNE on Urogynecology and Vaginal Surgery of FEBRASGO. He is a member of the Board of Directors of ALAPP (Latin American Association of Pelvic Floor). He has published 200 articles, 250 abstracts, 18 book chapters, and 3 books. He is an Associate Editor of the Brazilian Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics (RBGO). He is the Social Media Editor of the International Urogynecology Journal. He has reviewed for more than 60 national and international journals (IUJO, AJOG, BJOG, EJOGRB, UOG, Reproductive Sciences, J Women's Health, FPMRS) and for research funding agencies (FAPESP, CNPq), having reviewed more than 250 articles for all these journals. He has participated in over 150 graduate thesis committees (latu sensu and stricto sensu) up to the present. His current research interests focus on the diagnosis and treatment of Abnormal Uterine Bleeding associated with Uterine Leiomyoma, Gynecological Surgery, and Dysfunctions in Urogynecology.
