Graduated physician at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo (1984), holds a Master degree in Medicine (Obstetrics and Gynecology) at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo (1997), a PhD in Medicine (Obstetrics and Gynecology) at the University of São Paulo (2001) and post-doctorade (Epidemiology) at the Epidemiology Section of Universitary Hospital (2005). Since 2009, he has been a medical scientific researcher at the Preventive Medicine Department at Faculty of Medicine - University of São Paulo where he develops teaching activities (at the graduation and post-graduation) and research activities in the area of women's mental health, at the various life cycles (adolescence, pregnancy, menopause). It guides masters and doctoral students in the Department of Preventive Medicine of FMUSP. It has 56 complete papers published in journals, 50 in the ISI database (590 citations and h-index of 13) (august 2021), 02 books, 11 book chapters. Specialized in Psychoanalytic Psychosomatics (Sedes Sapientiae Institute, São Paulo, he seeks to study biopsychosocial aspects involved in the illness process. Over the last 10 years, he developed different activities of scientific divulgation, including a publication of two books: "Psychosomatic gynecology", Atheneu, 2007 and "Secrets of a woman: dialogues between the gynecologist and the psychoanalyst", Atheneu, 2010. He develops lectures and courses dealing with the subject "Medicine in Art" (Maternity, Erotism, Mental Health), explaining the meanings and historical contexts of selected masterpieces.
