He holds a degree in Physics from the Federal University of Santa Maria (2003), a master's degree (2005) and a doctorate (2009) in Space Geophysics from the National Institute for Space Research - INPE. From May to October 2007, he worked as a Visiting Researcher at Shinshu University in Matsumoto, Japan. He was a Post-Doctoral fellow at the Space Geophysics Division of the National Space Research Institute in 2010. Between August 2010 and January 2014 he was a Researcher at the Research and Development Institute - IPD and Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism - FEAU at the University of Vale do Paraíba - UNIVAP. Between May 2018 and September 2020 he was Head of the Space Geophysics Division-DIDGE / CGCEA / INPE-MCTI. He is a Senior Researcher assigned to the Teaching, Research and Extension Coordination of the National Institute for Space Research, is the Academic Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Space Geophysics, and Head of the Postgraduate Service at INPE. He is the current President of the Brazilian Society of Space Geophysics and Aeronomy-SBGEA, and the Brazilian Representative at the Latin American Association of Space Geophysics-ALAGE. He was International Ambassador between 2021 and 2022, at the Center for the Unified Study of Interhemispheric Asymmetries, a project led by the University of Texas at Arlington. He has experience in the area of Heliophysics, working mainly on the Sun-Interplanetary Environment-Earth's Magnetosphere Relationship, Solar Structures, Cosmic Rays and Geomagnetic Storms.
