Currently, I am an associate professor at the Laboratory of Environmental Sciences at the Center for Biosciences and Biotechnology in Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro and a collaborator at the Laboratory of Ecology and Conservation of Reef Environments (LECAR) in Universidade Federal Fluminense. I have been conducting research on macroecological patterns of herbivores associated with reef environments, as well as research on monitoring the dynamics of the benthic community of consolidated substrates and the ecology of reef fish. I am an ichthyologist, focused on spatial variations of marine and estuarine fish assemblages, including aspects of fisheries effects on these assemblages. I was a FAPERJ Nota 10 postdoctoral fellow from 2019 to 2022. I was a postdoctoral at the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) linked to the "Entropie" group based at the Université de Perpignan (France) evaluating macroecological patterns among herbivores, their competitors and predators in shallow reefs around the world. Previously, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Federal University of São Paulo, focusing on the effects of ascending and descending processes on the structuring of intertidal communities. I finished a PhD in Marine Biology in UFF - Universidade Federal Fluminense (2010), developing a project with herbivory in rocky reefs. Master in Zoology from UFPB - Federal University of Paraíba (2009), having developed a project to survey the reef fish assemblages in the south coast of João Pessoa / PB. Graduated in Biological Sciences Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology (2005) and Coastal Management (2006) at UNESP - Paulista State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho". I am particularly interested in studying the spatial variation of ecological patterns and processes, especially in the marine environment. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
