Graduated and Bachelor of Physics from Mackenzie University (1978), a Master's Degree in Astrophysics from the National Institute for Space Research (1982) and a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the National Institute for Space Research (1990). He is Senior Researcher III, Faculty Member, and Head of the Solar Physics Research Line in the Astrophysics Division of the National Institute for Space Research. Head of the Space Weather division. Responsible for the execution of the Brazilian space weather program EMBRACE. Has experience in Astronomy, with an emphasis on Heliophysics, acting on the following topics: Modeling solar flares in complex inhomogeneous environments with diagnostics at various wavelengths, solar quiescent atmosphere, instrumentation in radio astronomy, models of magnetic and cataclysmic variables and prediction models in space weather.
