Holds a degree in Agronomy by Federal University of Santa Maria - UFSM (2001), a Master's degree in Soil Science also by UFSM (2004) and a PhD in Agronomy/Agriculture by Universidade Estadual Paulista - UNESP, Botucatu - SP, with an emphasis on soil chemistry and soil fertility (2007). He is currently an associate professor at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture - ESALQ - USP, Piracicaba - SP (entry in 2012). The area of expertise in teaching and research is in Soil Fertility and Fertilization. Its projects are focused on the management of fertilizers and fertilization in crop succession; on soil phosphorus dynamics in production systems involving cover crops and soil management; as well as the use and cycling of environmental residues as sources of nutrients for plants.
