CV Lattes

Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas (ICB)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

I was graduated in Biomedicine (2000-2004) in the State University of Londrina, Brazil. Following, I received a Ph.D. degree (2005-2011) and postdoctoral training (2012-2017) in Cell and Tissue Biology at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. Currently, I integrate the Placenta Lab, located in the University Hospital Jena, Germany, where I coordinate the Research Group in Endometrial and Placental Biology . Our group investigates different aspects related to endometrial decidualization, embryo implantation and placentation in normal and diabetic conditions. As models, we use human tissues, primary cells, cell lines, 3D in vitro models and an ex-vivo model of placenta perfusion. Our studies are focused on the functional characterization of non-coding RNAs expressed by endometrial and trophoblast cells and released into extracellular vesicles as well as the role of these vesicles in intercellular communication.
