Received his Electrical Engineering degree, major on Power Systems, in 2006 from the São Carlos School of Engineering of the University of São Paulo in São Carlos, Brazil and his Sc.D. degree from the Electrical Engineering Graduate Program, major on Power Systems, in 2013 from the same institution. From September 2009 to August 2010, he worked as a visiting scholar at the Electricity Market Simulation and Optimization Laboratory in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Canada. As of February 2014, he has worked as a tenured professor in the Electrical Engineering undergraduate and graduate programs from the Universidade Federal de São Carlos in São Carlos, Brazil. From July 2018 to June 2019, he worked as a visiting professor at the Power and Energy Analysis and Research Laboratory in the Escuela Tecnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales at the Universidad Castilla-La Mancha in Ciudad Real, Spain. His main research interests are in the application of optimization techniques to power system planning, analysis and operation and electricity markets. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
