Graduated in Social Sciences at Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1968), Master in Sociologie Du Dévéloppement Iedes - Université Paris 1 (Panthéon-Sorbonne) (1978) and PhD in Sociologie Du Développement Iedes - Université Paris 1 (Panthéon-Sorbonne ) (1980). I am currently a professor at the Federal University of São Carlos, PPG in Sociology, and a professor at the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho. I Have experience in the field of Sociology, with an emphasis on Rural Sociology, working mainly on the following themes: agriculture and capitalism, agriculture and modernization, exploitation of agricultural modernization work, rural and migrant workers and rural settlements, gender and race / ethnicity relations. I am a CNPq Level 1A researcher. I received a senior research grant from Capes in the 2014-2017 period. I am currently a visiting professor in the Graduate Program in Sociology at UFSCar. I work as a collaborating teacher on the faculty of the Specialization, Mastery and Doctorate Sociología de la Agricultura Latinoamericana de UNco course at the Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Sociales de Comahue / Argentina. I am a member of the CLACSO Group, period 2019-2022, Agricultural work, inequalities and ruralities. Researchers from Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Cuba, Peru, Spain participate in this group. It is coordinated by professors Paola Mascheroni, from the Universidad de la República, Uruguay and Germán Quaranta del Centro de Estudios de Investigaciones laborales de la UBA y Conicet, Argentina.
