Irenilza de Alencar Naas

Irenilza de Alencar Nääs has an engineer degree from the State University of Campinas, she has MSc degree in Agriculture from Cal Poly State University, and a doctoral degree in Agricultural Engineering from Michigan State University in 1980. She is now full professor at the Paulista University, where she is carrying out research in food production networks. She is also professor emeritus at the State University of Campinas, and at the Federal University of Grande Dourados in Brazi, and at Florida State University, USA. She has been working with environment and intensively housed animals under tropical conditions from the 80`s, and lately leads projects on prospective scenarios for animal production under global warming. Has several scientific articles published mainly in Brazilian journals. Has advised several doctoral and masters students. Received awards both Brazilian and abroad. She is member of the Academy of Science at São Paulo State. She was president of the Brazilian Society of Agricultural Engineering, the Latin American and Caribbean Association of Agricultural Engineering, the International Commission of Agricultural Engineering, and the FACTA-Brazilian Poultry Science Foundation. She is member of academies and associations in Brazil and abroad. She is also Feloow of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, and member of the Scientific Research Honor Society-Sigma Xi. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
