Has experience in Cardiovascular Physiology and Exercise Physiology, working in the following areas: hypertension, heart failure, exercise training, with focus on baroreceptors and autonomic control of the circulation. She was Associate Professor at the Department of Physiology, Ribeirao Preto Medical School, University of Sao Paulo (1976-1989), working since 1990 at the Department of Physiology & Biophysics, Biomedical Sciences Institute, University of Sao Paulo (Full Professor of Physiology since 2003).
