Graduate in Biological Sciences at the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP)(1965), PhD in Genetics at the University of São Paulo (USP/FCMRP)(1969), Post-doctorate at the Michagan Cancer Foundation at Detroit (USA) (1985), and Visiting Scientist at the Technische Universität München (Alemanha)(1992). Full Professor and Emeritus Professor at the University of Campinas, with expertise in Genetics, focusing on Animal Genetics and Cell Biology, and acting on the subjects as follows: Chromatin and Epigenetics; Silks, collagen type 1, and other Biopolymers; special microscopies, image analysis and infrared microspectroscopy.
