Carlito Calil Junior, is a Sênior Professor at the Department of Structural Engineer , School of Engineering of São Carlos, University of São Paulo, Brazil. He graduated in Civil Engineering in 1975, and received his M.Sc. degree from São Paulo University in 1978. In 1982 he received his Ph.D. from the Polytechnic University of Barcelona, Spain. He is the mainly interested in the education, development, design and research of timber structures in Brazil. Actually he is the Director of The Laboratory of Wood and Timber Structures, President of the Brazilian Institute for Wood and Timber Structures and member of International Association of Wood Products Societies (IAWPS) Japan.
