She holds a Bachelor's Degree (2003) in Biological Sciences and a Master's Degree (2006) and a PhD (2010) in Psychobiology, all from the University of São Paulo (USP). She holds postdoctoral degrees at USP (2010-2014) and at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School (2018) and University of Minnesota (2018-2019). Since 2014, she is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), working in the Undergraduate and Graduate Programs in Psychology. She is currently coordinator of the Graduate Program in Psychology at UFSCar (2021-2023). She is a member of the National Association of Research and Graduate Studies in Psychology (ANPEPP), Brazilian Society of Psychology (SBP), Brazilian Society of Neuroscience and Behavior (SBNeC), Society for Neuroscience (SfN), International Behavioral Neuroscience Society (IBNS) and of the Institute of Neuroscience and Behavior (INeC). She is Review Editor for the Frontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience Journal. She has experience in Behavioral Neuroscience, in the areas of Neuropsychopharmacology, Neurophysiology and Animal Behavior, with an emphasis on investigating the biological basis of defensive and compulsive behaviors and related mental disorders.
