He holds degree in Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (1978) and a PhD in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry) from the University of São Paulo (1988). He is currently Assistant Professor 2 at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Ribeirão Preto (FFCLRP) of the University of São Paulo. Has experience in chemistry, with emphasis on molecular quantum chemistry and chemical bonding, working mainly on the following subjects: hydrogen bonds, interactions between aromatic rings, ("stacking"), intermolecular bonds and aromaticity. It also develops practices in computational quantum chemistry for undergraduate and graduate students. He regularly coordinates cultural and university extension workshops and courses.
