I have a bachelor's degree in Medicine from the Federal University of Ceara (1999), with residency in Internal Medicine and Hematology/Hemotherapy at the University Hospital of Ribeirao Preto Medical School-USP (2000-2003), Ph.D in Internal Medicine/Hematology at Ribeirão Preto medical School - USP (FMRP-USP) obtained in 2008, and Post-Doctoral fellowship at Prof. Daniel G. Tenen laboratory at Harvard Medical School (2011-2013). I am currently Assistant Professor of the Hematology, Hemotherapy, and Cell Therapy Division of the Department of Medical Imaging, Hematology, and Clinical Oncology, at FMRP-USP, with a progression to Associate Professor position in March 9th, 2023. I am also a researcher and coordinator of the Graduate Program in Clinical Oncology, Stem Cells and Cell Therapy and vice-coordinator of the Master's Professional Program in Hemotherapy and Biotechnology at FMRP-USP. I have experience in Internal Medicine with a focus on Hematology/Oncology, with emphasis on the following topics: etiopathogenesis, prognosis and treatment of myeloid neoplasms; phenotypic, molecular, and functional characterization of normal and neoplastic hematopoietic stem cells; and applications of molecular biology and flow cytometry for the study of hematopoietic neoplasms.
