Dentist graduated by Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2002). Master and PhD in Pharmacology by Federal University of São Paulo (2005 and 2009). She completed a doctoral sandwich internship in Pharmacology at the University of Virginia (2007). She is currently General Secretary of Experimental Biology Federation (FeSBE) and an Associate Professor 3 in the Department of Pharmacology at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo. Her main line of research is to understand how the central nervous system of mammals regulates respiration, identifying important neural circuitries in rodents using electrophysiological and neuroanatomical methods, and the changes observed in these circuitries in experimental models of neurodegenerative diseases, mainly Parkinson's disease.
