Graduate in Chemistry from Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de Ribeirão Preto (FFCLRP) of Universidade de Sao Paulo (1978) and Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Instituto de Quimica of Universidade de São Paulo (1984) and Free Teaching in Organic Synthesis by FFCLRP (2000). Currently is Associate Professor of the Chemistry Department of FFCLRP, President of the Board of the Foundation of Support to Science: Human, Exact and Natural (FACHEN), Scientific Advisor "Ad hoc" of several indexed international journals, and also of the FAPESP, CNPq and CAPES. Has experience in Chemistry, focusing on Organic Chemistry, acting on the following subjects: organic synthesis, catalysis, natural products, syntheses and studies of various types of products with biological activity.
