bachelor's at Engenharia Mecatrônica from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (1980), master's at Engenharia Mecatrônica from The University Of Tokyo (1985) and doctorate at Mechanical Engineering from Universidade de São Paulo (1993). He started his academic career with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, EPUSP, in 1988, where he has been a full professor since 1998. Has experience in Mechatronic Engineering, acting on the following research projects in the following subjects: medical and industrial applications of ultrasonics, piezoelectric transducers and machine tool design.
