Bachelor of Geology in the Institute of Geosciences and Exact Sciences of the Paulista State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho in 1980 and PhD in Geosciences in Mineralogy and Petrology at the Institute of Geosciences of the University of São Paulo in 1993. Approved as Associate Professor in 2002 with the thesis "Hydrothermal Alteration and Metalogenesis in Paleoproterozoic Vulcano-Plutonic Systems in the Tapajós Gold Province, South Amazon Craton" at the same institution and promoted to Associate Professor III in 2012. He is currently Full Professor of Metalogenesis and Tectonics at the Institute of Geosciences of USP, where he was hired in 1988. He began his career in the Department of Mineral Resources of the Technological Research Institute of the State of São Paulo in 01/1980 and was responsible for the Laboratory of Technological Characterization of Ores in the Mineral Treatment Division of the same Institution , where he was a member of t a project of technological development with the Japan International Cooperation Agency. He has experience in the area of Geosciences, with emphasis on Metalogenesis and Crustal Evolution, developing research on metalogenesis in Brazil and the Andes, evolution of metamorphic belts and accretionary complexes, hydrothermal alteration, volcanism, petrogenesis, geothermobarometry and on paleoproterozoic epithermal and Cu-Mo-Au in the southern part of the Amazonian craton. He is currently Director of the Geosciences Institute of University of São Paulo. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
