Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Campinas - UNICAMP, where he also obtained the titles of master, doctor, post-doctor, associate professor and full professor. He is also a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, commander of the National Order of Scientific Merit, Fellow of the Discovery Institute - USA and Citizen Emeritus of Campinas, SP, Brazil, where he was born. After his postdoctoral studies at Purdue University - USA, he founded the ThoMSon Mass Spectrometry (MS) Laboratory at UNICAMP, making it a research center of great international recognition, coordinating this laboratory for 25 years. Eberlin is now a professor at the School of Engineering at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie in São Paulo, Brazil and a researcher at the Postgraduate Program in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology - PPGEMN, as well as Research, Development and Innovation Manager at the Mackenzie Institute for Graphene Research and Nanotechnology - MackGraphe, where he also coordinates the MackGraphe Mass Spectrometry Laboratory - MackMass. Eberlin has supervised more than 210 masters, doctors and post-doctors, who today work as academics and professionals in Brazil and around the world, having published with them more than 1100 scientific articles in diverse scientific areas such as Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, Biology, Forensic Chemistry , Petroleomics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Sciences, Veterinary, Medicine and Materials Science. Eberlin is also editor of Wiley's Journal of Mass Spectrometry (JMS) and was president of the International Mass Spectrometry Society (IMSF) for two terms, having received, from the more than forty MS societies that make up the IMSF, the Thomson Medal, the highest honor in his area of #8203;#8203;research. Eberlin has also been included in lists of the most influential scientists in Brazil and the world, and is today one of the most productive researchers in the history of Brazilian science, with his more than 1,100 articles receiving more than 40 thousand citations. His daughter, Livia Eberlin, who advised him in Scientific Initiation, is now a researcher at the Baylor College of Medicine in the USA and is among the most prominent scientists in the USA, and the most awarded in the history of Brazilian science.Eberlin is now president of the Brazilian Societies of Mass Spectrometry (BrMASS) and Intelligent Design (TDI BRASIL). He is also a writer, having published the books We Were Planned: The Greatest Scientific Discovery of All Time, Foresight: How the Chemistry of Life Reveals Planning and Purpose (Foresight/Prevision) and The Scientific Duel of the Century: Darwin for Evolution against Michael Behe by Intelligent Design (Editora Kovalpress). Eberlin also presents two podcasts: "The Bible and Science" on Rede 3.16 and "Discussing Science with Marcos Eberlin" on IPP TV. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
