Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (ESALQ)  (Institutional affiliation for the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Associate Professor in Soil Microbiology at the Luiz de Queiroz School of Agriculture, University of São Paulo. Agronomist and PhD in Genetics and Plant Breeding from the same institution. Associate Professor in Soil Biology at ESALQ/USP. He represents the International Society for Microbial Ecology (ISME) in Brazil, and is an Affiliate Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Soils and Plant Nutrition at ESALQ/USP. He works in the area of Soil and Environmental Microbiology, focusing on independent analyzes of the cultivation of microbial communities. It studies microbial communities in natural areas, such as the Atlantic Forest, Caatinga and Mangrove biomes, and in agricultural production areas. Its main objective is to generate knowledge for the development of a more productive and sustainable agriculture, having soil biology as a basis for innovation. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
