Graduated in Medicine at Federal University of Pernambuco, with additional classes in the Biological Sciences Course at FAFIRE and UFPE and Language Courses at UFPE. She holds a Master's Degree in Medicine (Nephrology), a Doctorate in Medicine (Nephrology) at Federal University of São Paulo / UNIFESP and a Post-Doctorate at UNIFESP (with grant support from FAPESP). She is Associate Professor (Department of Medicine) at UNIFESP and Coordinator of the Glomerulopathies Sector at UNIFESP. She was Head of the Division of Nephrology at UNIFESP from 2013 to July 2017 and then became Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Nephrology at UNIFESP until now. She is a professor of Scientific Initiation, Master, Doctorate and Post-Doctorate of the Graduate Program in Nephrology at UNIFESP. She was awarded a CNPq research productivity grant in 2009, 2013, 2017 and 2020. She is an ad hoc consultant for CNPq, FAPESP, FACEPE and other institutions. She is a preceptor of the Academic Kidney League and a volunteer mentor for undergraduate students at EPM. She coordinated the National Campaign for the Prevention of Kidney Diseases from 2003 to 2010. She is the Director of the Department of Kidney Disease Prevention of the Brazilian Society of Nephrology until the present date. She has experience in the field of Medicine, with emphasis on Nephrology, working mainly in the following fields: glomerulopathies, post-transplant glomerulopathies, nephrotic syndrome, lupus nephritis, as well as chronic kidney disease and its prevention.
