I am a physicist with a PhD in Human Physiology. My research focuses on novel methods of signal processing for a broad range of clinical applications. In the recent years I have been actively engaged in the development of empirical measures of brain complexity for tracking the level of consciousness in individual brain-injured patients. Currently I am a professor of Biomedical Engineering and the coordinator of the Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering at the Federal University of São Paulo (Brazil). I am a FAPESP Young Investigator (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and a 2017 STS forum Future Leader (Kyoto, Japan) (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
