Suzan Pantaroto de Vasconcellos

Suzan had her master's degree in Agronomy (Energy in Agriculture) from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2001) and have done her PhD in Sciences at Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2006). She worked as a collaborating researcher at Division of Microbial Resources (FAPESP post-doctoral fellow) at Pluridisciplinary Center for Biological, Chemical and Agricultural Research CPQBA - Unicamp,involving the following areas: Biprocesses, Applied Microbiology, Biocatalysis and Metagenomics. She has experience in Industrial and Environmental Microbiology, working mainly on the following topics: Bioprocesses, Bioprospecting, Biotransformations and Biomaterials. She was a visiting researcher at the CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) - Sydney, Australia. She was also a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Groningen (Holland), working with Prof. Dr. Marco W. Fraaije. She is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), Campus Diadema, involved with Environmental Sciences course, coordinating the disciplines of General Microbiology and Microbiological Transformations in the Environment. She was coordinator of the Chamber of Graduate Studies and Research at ICAQF-UNIFESP during 5 years. She is the Dean's Secretary of International Relations, and is currently the vice-dean of Postgraduate Studies and Research at the same institution. Suzan coordinates scientific and academic projects in public-private partnerships. She is a permanent advisor for the master's/doctoral program of the Graduate Program in Chemistry - Science and Technology of Sustainability, in addition to the Graduate Program in Chemical Biology.
