He is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of Bahia and a collaborator at the University of São Paulo and the State University of Santa Cruz. He has experience in Microbiology, with an emphasis on Bacteriology, working mainly on the following topics: Human and animal mycoplasmas; human and animal staphylococci; pathogenicity; resistance; molecular biology.
