Mechanical Engineer (1987) and Master's in Mechanical Engineering (1990) from the Federal University of Itajubá, Safety Engineer from the São Paulo State University, UNESP (1990), Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (1994), and Tenured Associate Professor in Thermal Machines at UNESP (1997). He conducted post-doctoral research at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2001), a stage at the Centre of Applied Research, Sustainable Energy Technology (, in Stuttgart (2011), and at the Group of Thermal Machines and Engines, Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Zaragoza (2012). He is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Energy at UNESP, on the Guaratinguetá Campus, continuing international collaboration initiated in 2014 between UNESP and the Universities of Birmingham, Northampton, and Leicester on the "food/energy/water nexus" theme (ESRC/FAPESP/Newton joint funding scheme, thematic project FAPESP 15/50226-0, ESRC grant reference ES/K00932X/1) and between UNESP and CNAM/Paris initiated in 2016 in the context of the Programme des Chaires Franco-Brésiliennes dans l'État de São Paulo. Member of the Advisory Committee on Nuclear Engineering, Renewable Energy, and Energy Planning (CA-EN) of CNPq (07/2022-06/2025). Coordinator of the Laboratory of New Technologies in Energy and Sustainability (LANTES) and Vice-Coordinator of the Center for Scientific Excellence Laboratories (CLaCE) - 2023-2025. He works in the field of Energy Engineering, with a focus on Energy Planning, with an interest in modeling systems and processes and in synergistic and innovative technologies that promote polygeneration and the rational use of energy, water, food, and other elements related to its nexus (contact: jose.perrella at (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
