earned his bachelor's (1997), master's (1999) and doctorate (2002) degrees at Electrical Engineering from University of Sao Paulo. Dr. Ramos is now an Associate Professor at the Engineering School of Sao Carlos, a unit of the University of Sao Paulo, and has also worked as a Visitng Fellow at the University of New South Wales, Australia, and as a Visitng Associate Professor at the Univerity of Waterloo, Canada. Between 2014 and 2019 he was an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy and since 2020 he is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid. He is also a member of the AdComm for the Power System Dynamic Performance Committee of the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES), participating in the organization of the IEEE PES General Meetings from 2014 to 2016. The experience of Dr. Ramos in the field of Electrical Engineering is focused on Electrical Power and Energy Systems, and his main areas of research and expertise are: analysis of angle and voltage stability in power systems, distributed generation, active distribution networks, and microgrids. Dr. Ramos also acts as a reviewer for national and international journals and events and as an evaluator for research funding agencies, among which FAPESP, CNPq, CAPES and CONICYT (Comisión Nacional de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica - Chile) can be highlighted.
