He has degrees in Physics (2001) and Statistics and Data Science (2021) from the University of São Paulo, Master in Computational Physics (2004) and PhD in Computational Physics (2008) both from the University of São Paulo. He is currently a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa). He has experience in computational physics, statistics and data science, with emphasis on modeling and simulation, working mainly on the following topics: modeling agricultural and environmental systems, complex networks, pattern recognition and atomic and molecular spectroscopy. He also works in the development of calibration models for quantification of nutrients, carbon and contaminants in soils using photonic techniques; in the characterization of the structure of soil organic matter; and in classification models for diagnosis of biotic and abiotic stresses of plants also using photonic techniques (spectroscopy and imaging).
