Bachelor's in Agronomy from Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina-UDESC (1990), master's of Science in Nuclear Energy to Agriculture from Centro de Energia Nuclear na Agricultura-CENA (1995) were developed new methodologies baased on molecular tools to detect plant virus RNA.Later, I finished my PhD in Applied Microbiology from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho-UNESP (2000). I worked for two years as invited researcher at the Laboratory of Animal Biotechnology, Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz-ESALQ/USP (1995-1996). In 1997 started to work as researcher, (2000) scientific assessor and coordinator of technology and information in Fermentec reporting directly to President. After building the new headquarters of Fermentec I assumed the position of Scientific Coordinator, taking over three laboratories. In 2011 with the inauguration of the two new laboratories for research in yeast selection, molecular biology, sugar quality and the development of new analytical methods for the alcohol and sugar sectors, assumed the position of Scientific Director. Nowadays, as Scientific Director I have colaborated with all sectors of Fermentec, research projects and transfer of technologies to 60 distilleries that are responsible for 30% of all sugar and ethanol produced in Brazil.
