Professor (2010-current) at the postgraduation program of Institute of Tropical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine University of São Paulo. Expertise 1) drugs for infectious diseases, with an emphasis on neglected tropical diseases such as leishmaniasis and Chagas disease; 2) drugs for multidrug-resistant pathogens (ESKAPE); 3) Marine Microbiology with emphasis on the OSMAC approach and isolation of microbial metabolites as pharmaceutical prototypes; 4) in vitro studies of mechanism of action and preclinical in vivo. Coordinate national and international collaborative projects, with UFABC, UNIFESP, USP`, University of Oxford (UK), University of Dundee (UK), University of Southampton (UK), University of Bangor (UK), London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (United Kingdom), Universität Munster (DE), Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz (DE), Universität Düsseldorf (DE), Ohio State University (USA). Coordinated public-private project with the pharmaceutical company GSK (UK 2011-2014). He is a member (2011-current) of the international research network on natural products for drugs (ResNet NPND- Universität Münster, DE). Editorial Board Member - Infectious Diseases - of the journal Scientific Reports (Nature). Ad hoc advisor of international agencies such as Research Councils (RCUK), Health Research Board (Ireland, United Kingdom), Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR-France), Conycit (Argentina), National Science Center (Poland).
