Scientific Researcher VI at the Butantan Institute, Pathophysiology Laboratory. Bachelor's degree in Biochemical Pharmacy (Fac. Oswaldo Cruz, 1997), master's degree Institute of Energy and Nuclear Research -USP (1999), doctorate in Parasitology (Institute of Biomedical Sciences-USP) (2003) with a sandwich period at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine -University of London (guidance Prof. Simon L. Croft). Post-doctorate at UNIFESP (Physiology). He was a researcher at the Adolfo Lutz Institute between 2004 and 2023, coordinator of the New Drugs for Neglected Diseases Laboratory and deputy director of the Center for Parasitology and Mycology (2009-2023). Permanent Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Toxinology (2024-current). Professor (2006-current), deputy coordinator between 2010-2021 of the Postgraduate Program (PPG) of the State Department of Health and coordinator of the Laboratory Research in Public Health area between 2010 and 2021. Professor (2010-current) of the PPG Institute of Tropical Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo. Area of #8203;#8203;expertise includes in vitro and in vivo evaluation of new pharmaceutical prototypes (Drug Discovery) for leishmaniasis, Chagas disease and multidrug-resistant bacteria (ESKAPE). It also acts in the isolation of marine microbial metabolites and extremophile microorganisms. Maintains international projects with the University of Oxford (United Kingdom), University of Southampton (United Kingdom), Univesity of Auckland (New Zealand), Universität Munster (Germany) and Universidad La Frontera (Chile), having developed FAPESP projects with Ohio State University , King's College London and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Coordinated a public-private project with the pharmaceutical company GSK (Trust in Science 2011-2014). He is a member (2011-current) of the international research network for natural products for pharmaceuticals (Research Network Natural Products for Neglected Diseases at Universität Münster, Germany). Since 2018, he has been a member of the Editorial Board - Infectious Diseases of the journal Scientific Reports (Nature Group). He periodically acts as an ad hoc advisor to international agencies such as Research Councils (RCUK), Health Research Board (Ireland, UK), Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR-France), Conycit (Argentina), National Science Center (Poland). Production: publications: 153 articles (H index 34); supervised 12 (master's degrees), 11 (doctorates), and supervised 5 post-doctorates.
