BS in agronomy from the Faculdade de Agronomia Manoel Carlos Gonçalves (1972), MS in Animal Science from the Oklahoma State University (1978), Doctorate in Animal Science from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1988), Livre Docência from the FZEA/USP. Professor Titular of the Departamento de Zootecnia of the Faculdade de Zootecnia e Engenharia de Alimentos of the Universidade de São Paulo, 2011 to 2016. Currently ( since 2017) is Professor Titular Sênior at the same Faculdade. In 2019 received the university dignity of professor emeritus of the FZEA/USP.
