Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Centro de Energia Nuclear na Agricultura (CENA)  (Institutional affiliation for the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Associate Professor of the University of São Paulo, with undergraduate studies in Agronomy and graduate studies in Animal Nutrition and Use of Nuclear Techniques in Mineral Metabolism in Ruminants. Post-doc studies of whole crop products for dairy cows at Reading University (UK) and Researcher scholar at UC Davis (USA). Since 1985, researcher at CENA/USP in the area of nuclear and related techniques in agricultural productivity studies. Consultant for the International Atomic Energy Agency and ad hoc consultant of FAPESP, CNPq, EMBRAPA and PADCT-MIC. Have experience in animal science with an emphasis in animal feed assessment, quantification and qualification of bioactive molecules and nutritional strategies for sustainable production of ruminants and food security: use of radiotracers in body composition (3H), bioavailability and mineral metabolism in livestock (32P, 45Ca), radioimmunoassay (125I); in vitro gas production (syringes and transducer) to evaluate co-products, tanniniferous plants and plant secondary metabolites as modifiers of ruminal fermentation; use of tracers for quantifying the ruminal microbial mass (15N and purine derivatives) and diet constituent ( 13C and 15N); in vivo quantification of enteric methane production (chambers and SF6 tracer) in studies of strategies to increase the sustainable and secure production of ruminants.
