Full Professor at the Institute of Biosciences of Botucatu (IBB) at UNESP, in the Biochemistry discipline, and coordinator of the Laboratory of Bioassays and Cellular Dynamics (LaBIO), he holds a degree in Biology from UNESP (2005) and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from UNICAMP (2008), with a sandwich period at the Universitair Medisch Centrum Groningen (UMCG), in the Netherlands. He stands out in the fields of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, investigating signal transduction mechanisms in mammalian cells. His main research areas include bone biology, tissue bioengineering, development of biomimetic materials, large-scale biomaterial analysis, cell-material interaction, and nanotoxicity. As coordinator of LaBIO, funded by FAPESP, he supervises undergraduate, master's, Ph.D., and postdoctoral students, contributing to the training of a new generation of scientists. He maintains international partnerships with professors from countries such as the USA, the Netherlands, Portugal, England, Ireland, India, Italy, and Canada, expanding the global impact of his research. Currently, he serves as Vice-Director of IBB-UNESP (2021-2025) and has been a CNPq Research Productivity fellow since 2013, widely recognized for his academic leadership and innovative contributions to regenerative medicine and advanced biomedical technologies.
