Birthplace: Brazil

I have a degree in Biological Sciences Medical Modality from the Federal University of São Paulo (1999), a Master's degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the Federal University of São Paulo (2002) and a PhD in Oncology from the University of São Paulo (2006). Experience in Biochemistry, Cell Biology and Molecular Biology. I did my postdoctoral work at the Pharmacology Department of the Federal University of São Paulo, where I developed projects in the field of oncology, studying the development of melanoma. I worked as Professor of Biochemistry and Researcher at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo from 2014 to 2020, investigating the role of reactive oxygen species, uncoupling of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) and tetrahydrobiopterin, a cofactor of NOS, in malignant transformation and tumor progression of melanomas and glioblastomas. I am currently at the Department of Pharmacology at the University of São Paulo as a senior researcher where we are evaluating the contribution of the enzymes that are part of the tetrahydrobiopterin cycle in the development of melanoma and glioblastoma.
