Rosario Dominguez Crespo Hirata is a pharmacist with MSc and PhD from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and post-doctorate from the US Food and Drug Administration, USA. She is a retired professor at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of São Paulo (FCF/USP) and is an advisor for the Postgraduate Program in Pharmacy-Physiopathology and Toxicology at FCF/USP. Professor Rosario investigates the molecular basis of metabolic, cardiovascular and renal diseases using genomics, pharmacogenomics and epigenomics approaches. Her research group contributes to the scientific knowledge on pharmacogenomics of lipid-lowering and immunosuppressive drugs, producing innovative data on the Brazilian population.
