Birthplace: Brazil

BSc (Geology, 2000), MSc (Geochemistry and Geotectonics, 2003) and PhD (Geochemistry and Geotectonics, 2008) at the University of São Paulo (Brazil). I am a professor of geology at the Institute of Geosciences of the University of São Paulo (Brazil) and head of the Laboratory of Fluid Inclusions. From January 2007 to June 2014 I was a researcher at the Geological Survey of Brazil (CPRM), where I worked with geological mapping. I have experience in Structural Geology and Metamorphic Petrology and scientific interest in the themes: (1) deformation mechanisms in shear zones with emphasis on the genesis of natural fault-related rocks; (2) fluid circulation in deformational zones and genesis of hydrothermal veins; (3) relationships between deformation and metamorphism; (4) fluid inclusions as tectonic and petrological indicators; (5) microtectonics; and (6) metamorphism and crustal evolution. Since 1998 I have conducted scientific research in the southern Ribeira Belt (Ribeira Valley region, SE Brazil), focusing on issues related to the Brasiliano/Pan African Orogeny. Currently I have conducted research in the Rio Apa Domain of the Amazonian Craton, SW Brazil. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
