Principal Investigator of Applied Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology research group and coordinator of Molecular Genetics Lab. and Basic Biotechnology Lab. Advisor/co-advisor of more than 40 undergraduate students and 15 graduated ones (2002-2014). Other Activities - Section editor of Brazilian Journal of Aquatic Science Technology. Ad-hoc and reviewer of journals and research funding agencies. Former UNIVALI council member; President of Internal Committee of Biosafety; Member of Graduate and Center Committees. Main research area bioprospection; deep-sea marine biotechnology; heterologous expression; genomics and metagenomics; hydrolases and biopolymers; bioconversion and biofuels. Coordinator of microbiology group of South Atlantic MAR-ECO.
