She holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1977), a degree in Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1976), a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of São Paulo (1981) and a PhD in Public Health from the University of São Paulo (1990 ). Currently, is associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology of the Public Health School of the University of São Paulo (USP). At the Public Health School/USP. She is a member of the Coordination Committee for the Professional Master's Course in Entomology in Public Health and of the Coordination Committee for the Bachelor of Public Health Course. Has experience in undergraduate and graduate teaching in Epidemiology and Zoology, with an emphasis on Entomology in Public Health, acting mainly on the following themes: Phlebotominae, Psychodidae, cutaneous leishmaniasis, visceral leishmaniasis ecology, taxonomy and vectors. She is an advisor in lostgraduate Program in Public Health and in the Professional Master's Degree in Entomology in Public Health, both at the Public Health School - University of São Paulo and in the Entomology and Biodiversity Conservation Program at the Federal University of Dourados, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Currently develops projects on the evaluation of parameters that measure the vectorial capacity of some species of sand flies in relation to Leishmania spp, taxonomy and ecology of Phlebotominae.
