Graduated in Biological Sciences at the Pontificia Universidade Católica deCampinas (1993), Master of Cellular and Structural Biology from Universidade Estadual de Campinas - UNICAMP (1999) and PhD in Medicine from Unicamp (2004). Currently is associate professor of Department of Biosciences, Universidade Federal de São Paulo - Unifesp. Using experimental models of multiple sclerosis and chronic stress in childhood, we evaluated the growth factors, proinflammatory cytokines expression and stress markers, as well as autoimmune disorders and demyelination. Specifically the action of cytokines and growth factors on the occurrence of cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis in cells of the central nervous system, hippocampal plasticity, and the research for immunomodulatory agents on the clinical manifestation of these models.
