She holds a bachelor's degree in Biomedicine from the University of Santo Amaro (1996), a Master's degree (2000) and a PhD (2004) in Pharmacology from the University of São Paulo and a PhD in the Department of Cellular Biology and Development at the University of São Paulo. It investigates the action of Crotoxin (CTX), the main toxin isolated from Crotalus durissus terrificus (rattlesnake) venom on immunometolism, particularly on the function and energetic metabolism of macrophages, and how this immunomodulatory action of CTX can control the inflammatory events associated with Tumor progression. In this context, it investigates the direct effect of this toxin on tumor cells, endothelial cells and fibroblasts in three-dimensional extracellular matrix, in vitro biomimetic system to the tumor microenvironment and the main intracellular signaling pathways involved.
