Associate Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) in Natal/RN, Brazil, in the area of Physical and Chemical Processes of the Atmosphere. Professor and deputy head of the Department of Atmospheric and Climate Sciences allocated at the Center for Exact and Earth Sciences (CCET). Judith Hoelzemann is coordinator of the Research Group of Modeling and Observation of Atmospheric Chemistry (GP-MOQA) and the Atmospheric Lidar Laboratory - DUSTER at UFRN. Professor of the Graduate Program in Climate Sciences (PPGCC). Teaches disciplines in undergraduate courses in Meteorology and Environmental Engineering at UFRN. Collaborator of the Environmental Modeling group of the Max Planck Institute of Meteorology in Hamburg, Germany and the Atmospheric Chemistry Research Group of PUC-Rio, Brazil. Since 2019 Judith Hoelzemann has been a member of the international Commission on Atmospheric Chemistry and Global Pollution (iCACGP) of IAMAS/IUGG (2019-2022). He was a member of the Scientific Steering Committee of the International Global Atmospheric Chemistry project" (IGAC) of Future Earth (2014 - 2019) and has actively participated in the organization of its scientific conferences. Member of the project managers committee and German-Brazilian Laboratory KLIMAPOLIS. Research interests: Chemical-atmospheric observations and modeling: air quality, atmospheric aerosols, remote sensing of atmospheric aerosols and satellite trace gases, LIDAR and solar photometers, atmospheric emissions focusing on urban environments and vegetation/fire fires, environmental modeling/air quality and data assimilation. Judith Hoelzemann holds a "Diplom" (bachelor's and master's degree) in Geophysics from the University of Cologne, Germany (2001). PhD since 2006, from the International Max Planck Research School on Earth System Modelling (IMPRS-ESM) at the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg and the University of Hamburg ("Dr. rer. Nat. - PhD in Exact and Earth Sciences"), Germany. Fapesp postdoctoral studies from 2006-2010 at the National Institute of Space Research (INPE) in Brazil, at the Center for Weather Forecasting and Climate Studies (CPTEC) (2006-2008), as well as at the Center for Earth System Science (CCST) (2009-2010). From 2010-2011 she worked as Associate Researcher at CCST/INPE in São José dos Campos/SP, hired by Rede Clima, before assuming the position of professor at UFRN in 2011. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
