Hermes Senger is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil. He received his PhD and MSc in Computer Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP) in 1996 and 2002, respectively. He has published more than 50 papers in peer reviewed scientific conferences and journals. He has participated as PI or Co-PI in research projects funded by international research funding agencies including: FAPESP/CNRS(France), STIC-Amsud, and European Community; and projects funded by Brazilian funding agencies including CNPQ, FAPESP, CAPES, and RNP. He has lead the scientific cloud computing project at UFSCar (a 1M EUR grant by FINEP-Brazil). He served as chair of the Post-Graduate program in Computer Science at UFSCar (2013-2015), and he served as CIO at UFSCAR (2015-2016). His research interests include parallel and distributed computing, cloud computing, security, intelligent transportation systems, and bioinformatics. He is has been a CNPq fellow since march, 2010.
