Carlos Grohmann is an Associate Professor of Geotechnologies at the Institute of Energy and Environment, University of São Paulo, Brazil (IEE-USP), and was with the Institute of Geosciences (IGc-USP - oct/2009 to feb/2014). He has a degree in Geology (BSc Hons, 2001), master's (MSc, 2002-2004) and PhD (2004-2008) in geotectonics from the same institution, with a cooperation fellowship at Kingston University London (2007). Is the Editor-in-Chief of the Brazilian Journal of Geology and an Associate Editor of Computers & Geosciences. He was the vice-chair of the International Society for Geomorphometry (ISG - 2015-2021) and the Finance Director of the Brazilian Geological Society (SBG - 2014-2019). Is associated with the Brazilian Geological Society (SBG), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the Society of Latin-american Specialists in Remote Sensing (Selper). His work focus on the following subjects: Digital Terrain Analysys (geomorphometry), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), free software (FOSS), remote sensing and karstic systems. Received the CAPES Award of 2009 for Best PhD Thesis (Geosciences). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
