Graduated in Medicine from the School of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (1983), Medical Residency in Infectious Diseases at the Hospital das Clínicas of the School of Medicine of the University of São Paulo, Master in Epidemiology and Public Health (Virology major) from Yale University (1989 ) and PhD in Molecular Virology - Yale University (1994). He is currently an associate professor (Level III) at the Ribeirão Preto School of Medicine, University of São Paulo. He has experience in the field of Medicine, with an emphasis on Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, acting mainly on the following themes: epidemiology, clinical manifestations and diagnosis of dengue and other arboviruses; use of molecular virology techniques with special attention to the production of diagnostic reagents and vaccine candidates against dengue and other arboviruses; assessment of the immune response induced by viral infections.
