Volunteer Associate Professor at São Paulo State University-UNESP, teaching in the undergraduate and graduate (MSc and PhD) programs in Forestry. Coordination of the Forest Ecology and Restoration Laboratory. Research themes include several aspects of the ecology, restoration anda management of tropical forests, including tropical forestry and agroforestry. Working not only as an academic researcher, but also as an environmental activist, supporting public and private organizations and NGOs. Member of national and international research organizations as IUFRO (International Union of Forest Research Organizations), acting as Deputy (for Latin America) at the Unit 1.06.00- Restoration of Degraded Lands, from 2001-2014. Member of SER (Society of Ecological Restoration member of the Board of Directors, 2015-2018, representative of Latin America and the Caribbean). Founder member of REBRE- Brazilian Ecological Restoration Network and SOBRE- Brazilian Society of Ecological Restoration (Board of Directors, 2016-2018; Consultive Council, 2018-2020). Adviser of several research cooperative programs, research institutes and NGOs as a tropical forestry and forest ecologist expert. Visiting academic at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia, 2012-2013. Scientific Referee of high-level national and international scientific journals. ORCID ID 0000-0001-5806-2544.
