Has degree in Biological Sciences form the Faculty of Medical and Biological Sciences of Botucatu (1975) and PhD in Sciences (Cell and Tissue Biology), University of São Paulo (1984). Currently is Professor at the University of São Paulo. Has been working on Morphology and Gene Expression and trophoblast biology, working on embryo implantation, post implantation trophoblast, placentation and placenta. Interacts with several national and international research groups in the area Placental-Maternal Interaction. Recently has been focused attention on mechanisms that modulate the maternal-fetal interface triggered by the trophoblast. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
